Distance Work Day #16

Kia Ora Potatoes!

How are you? I hope you're having a fabulous day! its Friday, that means we're doing Fri-yay tasks!
one task set by our hub teachers, one by our technology teachers!

I'll be honest, when I woke up this morning I thought it was Thursday. When I finally figured out t was Friday (around 9am) it was a pleasant surprise.

Anyway, let's get right into it.

The tech task I chose was 'boredom buster' or something. Basically, I had to make a board game. I made one based on my cat. kinda. It's called 'Lilly's Mansion' and Lilly is my cats' name.
Here's a picture of the board:
I just realised how bad quality that picture is.
There are a lot of rules so I won't go over how to play or anything, but if you would like to know about how to play say so in the comments and I'll make a post entirely on this game.

For the task my hub teachers set, I had to design my dream birthday cake!
The rules were:
  • A theme (like rainbow unicorns or lego or space)
  • At least 5 layers.
  • The only stuff that can be be made of cake or icing.

Your diagram must show us:

  • The flavour of each layer
  • The decorations for each layer.
  • Colours for each layer.
  • Any surprise features (e.g. a volcano inside

This is my cake/diagram:

Can you tell I like science? I like Astronomy the most (that's why its the biggest layer)

E = mc2 = Energy equals mass times the speed of light squared. (in case you were wondering)

I really hope you've enjoyed reading this post!
And maybe learnt what E = mc2 means.
See you all on Monday!
Bye!

  1. Awesome work Jayde! Your game looks like so much fun, have you been playing it with your bubble? Did you find any rules needed changing once you started playing? Your cake looks fantastic, I love how much detail you have added. My favourite layer is the bottom layer, it looks so cool. I love your theme of science and that you picked something you love. Keep up the great work! Have a great week. Caitlin :)
